Botanical Gardens are located in one of my favorite traveling spot, Ooty which was laid out by Madras Governor in 1847. The photogenic Gardens have various 650 species of plants and trees.
These species are including a fossil of a tree that is believed to be more than 20 million year old tree. This is considered as one of the biggest tourist attractions of Ooty. Other highlights are a wooden house made of logs known as “Toda Mund”, Lily Ponds; clipped bushes that appears like elephants with raised trunks, thousand of plants… Botanical Gardens welcome the Nature Lovers who want to enjoy the long walks among the greenery. The Visitors could see rare ferns and shrubs up close. The Gardens impressively celebrate a festival annually, during in summer season. The festival draws the attention of the visitors through colorful and blissful flower shows of all sorts and holds cultural programs also. If you come to Ooty, adjust your time to visit Botanical Gardens really gives feast to your eyes.
