Brookfield Zoo is also known as Chicago National Park, located in Brookfield, Illinois, Chicago. It is open for every day of the year. Brookfield Zoo is located on 216 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, housing over 2,000 animals. The Zoo was first opened on July1, 1934 and became world famous for its use of natural barriers, such as moats and ditches, rather than cages.
Brookfield Zoo featured the first Giant Pandas exhibit in the United States and one of those exhibits put on display in Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History. The exhibits such as the Australian House, Baboon Island, Wolf Woods, Reptile House, Pachyderm House and more, are very enjoyable and please.
The Zoo includes a children’s petting zoo and the Play Zoo especially for children, where families can interact closely with the animals. Sure to be a beloved is the Tropic World show, which reproduces a tropical rain forest with monkeys, birds and more, even a replicated thunderstorm. The Dolphin Presentation is astonishing, which not to be missed. Be sure to check the schedule. Guided tours offers you to journey on the Motor Safari tram from spring through fall. The Brookfield Zoo also offers all kinds of dining options and gift shops.
