Summer Place (Yiheyuan) is a famous tourist spot among other sightseeing in Beijing. Summer Place is one of the best parks in the city. It is the best vacation spot for families, and others during the summer season.
The Summer Place is massive place, most of it being taken by Kunming Lake. Several Buddhist temples can be seen on the top of Longevity Hill. On clear days, the temples offer good views of the lake. Having Boating about the lake the very enjoyable. The place holds a famous Long Corridor, along the shore, which listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as “longest painted corridor in the world”. The specialty of the Long Corridor is, it features a variety of Chinese mythical and traditional tales.
Another highlight on the shore of the lake, you can have a glance at Marble Boat. It is a large boat shaped marble spectator area which lies in the shallow water just off the shore. You can watch opera at outdoor theater and can dine on the Qing court style dishes at the restaurant inside the Ting Li Guan.
Another part of the park is Suzhou Street. You need to buy a separate ticket. There are tea and snacks shops, can be visitable. The Street surrounds a short canal. Gondola-liked boat offers you to go up and down about the canal.
