Kenroku-en is one of the Japanese amazing landscaped gardens along with Koraku-en and Kairaku-en gardens. The garden is currently refers to Renchi Yard since it was near the Renchi gate which makes some Kanazawa Castles those days. It is the spacious garden, which is used to be the outer garden of Kanazawa Castel. Beautiful ponds, stunning waterfalls, winding streams, relaxing teahouses, bridges, variety of tress, hills, and colorful blossoms are the photographic features of the Kenroku-en Garden.

The name Kenroku-en exactly means “Garden of the Six Sublimities”. Kenroku-en Garden is considered as “a perfect garden”. According to Chinese Theory, there are six essentials that make a perfect garden. Here six sublimities refer to spaciousness, seclusion, artificiality, antiquity, abundant water, and broad views. Since, the garden holds all these essentials it is called a perfect garden.

It is strolling-style garden laid out with wide variety of ponds, hills, teahouses and many other interesting gardening techniques from different periods. Unlike sit-and-view style garden, the garden is very spacious arranged with hills, ponds connecting streams, etc it allows the visitors to walk through and enjoy the garden.
