The Baikal Lake - Freshwater Lake on the Earth


The Baikal Lake is well-known as one of the biggest and most ancient lakes of the world, which is situated nearly in the South-Eastern part of Siberia. Everyone who has been to its beautiful seashores pretty much impressed and charmed by the majesty, size, and curious might of this Siberian miracle of the nature.

The Russian spell the word, “Baikal” as “Ozero Baykal”. The word “Baikal” is derived from the Turk language, which means “Wealthy Lake”. And it has also added in the list of World Heritage by UNESCO.

Baikal Lake is referred as the deepest freshwater lake on the earth and also containing 20% of the world’s total of freshwater it is known as the largest reservoir of fresh surface water. It is famous for unique transparency of its waters and miscellany of Flora and Faun.

Visiting Baikal Lake –an Important Holy Place of Asia is really a wonderful experience which is incomparable with anything else. There is also Trans-Siberian train facility, to take a trip to the lake.
