Standing on the mouth of the Hudson in New york Harbor, the Statue of Liberty welcomes millions of the visitors, returning Americans, and immigrants alike. The Statue of Liberty was actually titled as “Liberty Enlightening the World”, but famous with the current name. The sculptor was by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and armature by Eiffel Tower fame, Gustav Eiffel.
It was dedicated on October 28th, 1886. Hundreds of workers contributed their effort to the construction of the statue, which took 9 years to finish. It designated as a National monument in 1924 and restored for her centennial on July 4th, 1986.
