Hoover Dam is a curved gravity dam, originally known as Boulder Dam. The Dam is about 726 feet tall. This is a concrete arch-gravity dam, which is situated in Black Canyon of the Colorado River on the border between the U.S. states of Arizona and Nevada.

It is a stone arch bridge, which is about 7.5 meters arch (24-foot) was designed to allow passage of galleys. This massive structure was built on some 12,000 wooden pilings that still maintain the bridge more than 400 years later.
